This specimen was lot 2617 in Stephen Album sale 37 (Santa Rosa, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $261.80. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAFAVID: Isma'il I, 1501-1524, AR shahi, Sari, AH929 (final 9 recut over 8), mint name in obverse cartouche, inscribed beh bud sari 929, VF, RR. Mints in Mazandaran, such as Sari and Amol, normally struck to a local standard, but occasionally struck coins of the western standards, presumably for payments outside of Mazandaran."
