This specimen was lot 31821 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $329. The catalog description[1] noted, "Oscar I 1/16 Riksdaler 1852-AG, MS63 NGC. A very choice specimen with handsome, variegated tone." This type is noted for 1845-55 but was dropped in the reform of 1855. In the reform of 1830, the twelfth, sixth and third riksdalers were dropped for eighth, quarter and half riksdalers.
Recorded mintage: 934,000.
Specification: 2.13 g, 0.750 fine silver, 17.7 mm diameter.
