This specimen was lot 11433 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €168 (about US$175). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 1/16 Riksdaler Specie, 1848/5 - AG. Stockholm Mint. Oscar I. NGC MS-63. Overstrike date 1848/45. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." In the reform of 1830, the skilling, formerly 1/48 riksdaler, became 1/128 riksdaler and new copper denominations issued. The smallest silver denomination, the 1/32 riksdaler, was three skilling. This type was struck 1845-52 and 1855. The coinage was reformed again in 1855 and this denomination dropped.

Recorded mintage: 4,173,274 including the 1848/5 overdate.

Specifications: 2.13 g, 0.750 fine silver, 17.7 mm diameter; this specimen 2.16 g.
