This specimen was lot 73406 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $110. The catalog description[1] noted, "LIVONIA. Schilling ("Riga Penny"), (16)21. Riga Mint. Sigismund III of Poland. NGC MS-63. A lustrous and charming example of this choice billon issue." This type was struck 1601-22 while Riga was theoretically Polish. In 1621, the town was seized by the Swedish and held by them until captured by Russia in 1720.
