This specimen was lot 34158 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $4,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "Poland: Lithuania. Johann II Kasimir Schilling 1661-TLB MS64 Brown NGC A tremendous survivor in a seemingly impossible grade, with NGC recording only one finer. The devices are bold and exact, admitting virtually no signs of handling. Bursts of original red and periwinkle manifest in the peripheries, sweeps of color that imbue the coin with personality." This type was struck 1660-66. We're not sure the reported mintage is accurate as the coin has a low catalog value in Extremely Fine.
Recorded mintage: 7,000 for 1660-61.
Specification: copper.
Catalog reference: KM 50, Gum-1866.
