Stack's Bowers 2020 NYINC sale, lot 23426
Norway SB120-23426r.jpg

This specimen was lot 23426 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 2 Kroner, 1917. PCGS MS-64. An attractive well struck example with mottled russet patina in the peripherals." This type is noted for 1908-17 but, despite the steady production, it is rather scarce. It is the last of the denomination. The last silver coins struck for circulation were the ten, twenty and fifty øre of 1919.

Recorded mintage: 377,500.

Specification: 15 g, 0.800 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM-370.
