This specimen was lot 4612 in Goldberg sale 84 (Los Angeles, January 2015), where it sold for $529. The catalog description[1] noted, "South Africa. Sixpence, 1925. George V. NGC graded MS-62." The six pence was struck in South Africa 1923-60. It was 0.800 fine silver until 1930 and 0.500 fine thereafter. The first issues (1923-24) had a numeric reverse. Despite the low mintage, this date is not rare.
Recorded mintage: 79,000.
Specification: 2.82 g, 0.800 fine silver.
Catalog reference: KM 16.1.
