This specimen was lot 58396 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 20 Pence, ND (1637-42). Edinburgh Mint. Charles I. NGC AU-58. Third coinage. Briot's milled issue, with "B" below portrait." Briot and Falconer both struck Scottish coins for Charles I and so some twenty pence bear a "B" (shown here), an "F" or both. This coin would have traded for an English silver penny. Scottish coinage ended in 1707 with the Act of Union.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver.
