Sincona sale 51, lot 3541
Alsace and Strasbourg in 1547

This specimen was lot 3541 in Sincona sale 51 (Zurich, October 2018), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$965 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Strassburg/Strasbourg, Stadt, 1/2 Taler 1617. Auf die 100-Jahrfeier der Reformation. Vorzüglich. Hübsche Patina. (France, city of Strasbourg, half thaler of 1617, on the centennial of the reformation. Extremely fine, Attractive patina.)"

The SCWC lists a thaler (KM 312), double thaler (KM 348) and triple thaler (KM 357) but not a half thaler.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 13.97 g.
