Revision as of 18:38, 3 November 2024
This type was struck at Lima 1826-40 and at Cuzco 1827-35; the complete span of Peru standing liberty half reales runs 1826-56. Assayer MM is recorded for 1831-35 and an overdate, 1833/2 is listed. The date is listed in the SCWC as common, tho all Peruvian minors are scarcer in nice condition than the catalog values would indicate. It was legal tender in the United States until 1857 for 6¼¢.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 1.69 g, 0.903 fine silver, .049 troy oz ASW.
Catalog reference: KM 144.1.
