Queen Wilhelmina abdicated in 1948 in protest of Dutch colonial policy in Indonesia in favor of her daughter, Juliana, who would rule until 1980. New coin types were therefore necessary and were introduced in 1950. This silver gulden was struck 1954-67, then converted to nickel (KM 184a). No dates are rare.
Recorded mintage: 9,000,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 6.5 g, 0.720 fine silver, 25 mm diameter, lettered edge.
Catalog reference: KM 184, Sch-1108.
