This specimen was lot 71784 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. 25 Cents, 1964. Utrecht Mint; privy mark: fish. Juliana. PCGS PROOF-65 Cameo. A glistening Gem example that is surpassed by none on the PCGS population report, but tied with 2 others in Cameo. Hard surfaces with soft lustrous brilliance helps create amazing detail and eye appeal." Queen Wilhelmina abdicated in 1948 in protest of Dutch colonial policy in Indonesia in favor of her daughter, Juliana, who would rule until 1980. New coin types were therefore necessary and were introduced in 1950. This nickel twenty-fve cents was struck 1950-51, 1954-80. No dates are rare.
