The first specimen was lot 33160 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V 1/2 Crown 1929 MS65 PCGS. A lightly golden piece almost flawless in its execution, save a light ding on George's truncation, with satiny surfaces." The second specimen was lot 2173 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[2] noted, "Great Britain. Halfcrown, 1929. George V. PCGS graded MS-65." This type was struck 1927-36 in substantial numbers. It superseded a type struck 1911-26 with a different reverse (KM 818).
Recorded mintage: 17,633,000 + proofs.
Specification: 14.13 g, 0.500 fine silver, .227 troy oz ASW, 32.3 mm diameter.
