Great Britain 1930 half crown
This specimen was lot 3932 in Goldberg sale 85 (Los Angeles, June 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Halfcrown, 1930. George V. Uncirculated with some golden tone. This is the sought after key date in the George V, fourth coinage Halfcrown series. Usually found with 'bag-marks' or scuffs, due to the storage and transportation methods, this coin has relatively unblemished surfaces. NGC graded MS-63." This type was issued 1927-36 and most of the dates are common. This one is scarce to rare. The half crown was sterling silver until 1922, then 0.500 fine silver, then converted to copper-nickel in 1947.
