This specimen was lot 1093 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 26 (Winter Park, FL, November 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Southern Rhodesia, 2 shillings, 1944, NGC MS 62. Light toning, a few bagmarks and the obverse slightly cloudy, still choice grade, tied with one other for second finest in NGC census behind a single MS 63." Rhodesia, named after diamond magnate Cecil Rhodes, was created a self-governing colony of Britain in 1923. Coinage commenced in 1932. The colony was federated with Northern Rhodesia in 1956 but is now Zimbabwe. This type was struck 1944 and 1946 and is scarce in nice condition.
