Jean Elsen sale 151, lot 932

This specimen was lot 932 in Jean Elsen sale 151 (Brussels, June 2022), where it sold for €480 (about US$600 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Jean IV (1415-1427), AR double penninck Jans, 1417-1419, Vilvorde et Maastricht. 2e émission. Les A barrés. D/ Heaume au-dessus des écus de Bourgogne et de Brabant. R/ Croix pattée cantonnée de deux lis et de deux lions. Très rare Petits éclats du flan sur la tranche. Très Beau à Superbe. Provient de notre liste 243, mars 2008, 867. (duchy of Brabant, John IV, 1415-27, silver double penny, Vilvorde or Maastricht mint, second emission. The "A's" are barred. Obverse: helmeted arms of Burgundy and Brabant; reverse: cross pattée cantonned with two lilies and two lions. Very rare, rim nicks, Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"
