Sincona sale 46, lot 780

This specimen was lot 780 in Sincona sale 46 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,440 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Osterreich, Ferdinand II. 1618-1637. Dukat 1636, Kremnitz. Selten. Fast vorzüglich. (Austria, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, ducat of 1636, Kremnitz mint. Rare, About extremely fine.)"

This type was struck for Ferdinand II 1622-37. A similar issue was emitted from Nagybanya (KM 98) for 1630-37.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.47 g.
