This specimen was lot 1763 in Jean Elsen sale 116 (Brussels, March 2013), where it sold for €5,000 (about US$7,589 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, HOLLAND, De Staten in opstand (1572-1581), AV gouden kroon, 1580, Dordrecht. Met titel van Philips II. Droit: (zon) ·PHS· D· C· HISP· REX· CO· HOL· 1580· Leliekruis met in de hoeken twee vuurijzers en twee leeuwen. Revers: DOMINVS· MIHI· ADIVTOR (roosje) Gekroond wapenschild tussen twee letters P. Uiterst Zeldzaam. Prachtexemplaar met originele glans. FDC (Netherlands, province of Holland, States Revolt (1572-81), golden crown of 1580, Dordrecht mint, in the name of Philip II. Obverse: Floriate cross divides two jewels and two lions; reverse: crowned arms divide 'P-P'. Extremely rare, proof example with original luster, uncirculated.)"

Couronnes d'or were struck again in the Spanish Netherlands about 1615-42 but by then Holland had become part of the United Provinces.
