The specimen shown was lot 1220 in Aureo y Calicó sale 232 (Barcelona, March 2011), where it sold for 160 euros (about US$264 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Felipe V (1700-1746). 1708. Valencia. F. 2 reales. Escasa. MBC-. (Philip V, 1700-46, two reales of 1708, Valencia mint. scarce, nearly very fine.)
This type was issued in Valencia 1707-14 on behalf of the French prince Philip, who as Philip V contended successfully with the Austrian archduke Charles for the throne of Spain. It is scarce.
