This specimen was lot 891 in Jean Elsen price list 258 (Brussels, October 2011) where it was offered for €275 (about US$385). The catalog description noted,
"NEDERLAND, ZEELAND, Provincie, AR hoedjesschelling, 1731, Droit: Gekroond provinciewapen tussen jaartal. Revers: Leeuw met speer waarop vrijheidshoed. Ref.: Een paar stempelbreukjes. Zeer Fraai à Prachtig. (Netherlands, province of Zeeland, shilling of 1731. Obverse: crowned arms divide date; reverse: seated lion holds a spear. Die cracks, very fine to extremely fine.)"
These "lion" shillings were struck in Zeeland until 1738, then replaced after 1750 with "ship shillings."
