Sincona sale 26, lot 3534

This specimen was lot 3534 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$371 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Silberdukat 1735. Gutes vorzüglich. (Netherlands, province of Zeeland, silver ducat of 1735, good extremely fine.)"

This type was struck throughout the eighteenth century until 1794. The SCWC catalogs this as Dav-4914, which is only correct for the pre-1700 issues.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 28.25 g, 0.873 fine silver, .313 troy oz ASW, this specimen 27.34 g.
