Stack's Bowers November 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 73175

This specimen was lot 73175 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Cent, 1903. London Mint. Edward VII. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown. Mostly dominated by a vibrant red nature, and with some hints of brown and cobalt otherwise mixed in, this near-Gem undoubtedly delights the eye." This type, struck 1902-10, is common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 4,000,000.

Specification: 5.67 g, bronze, 25.5 mm diameter, plain edge.
