This specimen was lot 51213 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 1/4 Real, 1805-L. Lima Mint. Charles IV. NGC Unc Details--Obverse Spot Removed. A sharp example with even golden-toned surfaces. Evidence of the spot removal, while faint, can be observed within the castle's arch. From the EMO Collection. Privately purchased from Freeman Craig."
