Künker sale 294, lot 4297

This specimen was lot 4297 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €400 (about US$539 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSSILBERMÜNZEN, LIPPE, Leopold IV. 1904-1918. 3 Mark 1913. Fast vorzüglich. (Germany, unified silver coinage, principality of Lippe, Leopold IV, 1904-18, three mark of 1913. About extremely fine.)"

This one year type was the last issue from this state. The only other issue from the twentieth century was a two mark from 1906 (KM 270).

Recorded mintage: 15,000 plus 100 proofs.

Specification: 16.67 g, 0.900 fine silver, 33 mm diameter.
