This specimen was lot 33284 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $998.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russian Duchy 10 Pennia 1865 MS65+ Brown PCGS. A scarcer type in all grades, bordering on rare when seen this choice." This type is listed for 1865-67 and is cheap in circulated condition. This specimen sold for nearly triple the catalog value. Later types are noted for 1875-76, 1889-91 and 1895-1917.

Recorded mintage: 250,000.

Specification: 12.8 g, copper, 30 mm diameter.
