This is a later date of a denomination struck since 1907. Many two centavos were struck from used ten centavo dies with the denomination crudely recut. This type, struck 1919-20, was not made in this manner but the hand of local artisans is visible in the clumsy spacing of the date. In 1931, the peso was dropped in favor of the lempira and the mintage of gold for circulation ceased.

Recorded mintage: 117,000.

Specification: 4.25 g, bronze.

Catalog reference: KM 71.
