This specimen was lot 20437 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $1,265. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V 10 Cents 1912, MS66 PCGS, purple and reddish-gold patina encircles the bright silver-gray centers while dazzling satiny luster shimmers throughout the fields. The details are exquisite. PCGS has certified just six pieces in MS66, with none finer (7/09)." This type was struck 1912-19 and is not scarce in grades up to Extremely Fine. While the dates 1917-19 are readily available in Uncirculated, this date is not.
