Sincona sale 69, lot 1162

This specimen was lot 1162 in Sincona sale 69 (Zurich, May 2021), where it sold for 2,400 CHF (about US$3,185 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ROMANIEN. Republik, seit 1948. 5000 Lei 2001. 31.10 g. KM 162. Fr-31. Sehr selten. Nur 500 Exemplare geprägt. Polierte Platte. Im Originaletui mit Zertifikat. (republic of Romania, since 1948, 5000 lei of 2001. Very rare. Only 500 pieces struck, Choice Proof, In original box with certificate.)"
