This specimen was lot 32956 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "William III 6 Pence 1697-B MS62 NGC, Bristol mint. Tied for the finest graded of the date within the NGC census, and a true ode to the upper end of William's coinage, a sprinkling of granulation in the bust from die rust adding a touch of character to what is an undeniably attractive specimen. From the Lake County Collection." This type of 1697 was issued from many branch mints as part of a major recoinage directed by Sir Isaac Newton. This specimen comes from Bristol.
