This specimen was lot 17 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 450 euro (about US$714 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1684. Nápoles. IM-AG/A. 1 ducado. Rara. MBC. (Kingdom of Naples, ducado of 1684. Rare, very fine.)"
The SCWC lists this scarce coin under the kingdom of Naples, then under Spanish rule. This type is listed for 1684 only. It is cited[2] as one of the inspirations for the later pillar dollar of Latin America.
