Spain 1738S real rev DSLR.jpg

The specimen shown is a Spanish real struck in 1738 at the Seville mint from a type struck there 1731-45. Assayer PJ is recorded for the years 1738-56. There is no reason to think that these coins are rare but they are very difficult to find in the American numismatic marketplace and are likely seriously underpriced.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, .917 fine silver, .099 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: Cayón-8536, KM 354.
