This specimen was lot 29862 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $7,637.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Franz Joseph I gold 100 Korona 1907-KB MS64 NGC, Kremnitz mint. A beautiful specimen struck to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Coronation of Franz Joseph with a beautiful two-toned effect in the way of deeply-mirrored peripheries and matte-like central surfaces. A popular one-year type, scarcely encountered at this premium level of mint-state. From The Empire Collection." This type was issued for Hungary in 1907 from the Kremnitz (Komoczbanya in Magyar) mint during the reign of Emperor Francis Joseph of Austria-Hungary. After the reorganization of the Hapsburg empire into the Dual Monarchy in 1867, Hungary received her own coinage separate from Austrian issues. In the aftermath of World War One, the Hapsburg monarchy collapsed and Hungary became independent but without its former territories in Slovakia, Transylvania and Croatia.

Specification: 33.88 g, .900 fine gold, .973 troy oz ASW, 36 mm diameter.
