Mexico 1801 real rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen is an example of a type struck 1792-1808 in Mexico City. Harris[1] notes Mexico City and Potosi as tied for abundance of Charles IV one reales but the earlier dates are not so common. The SCWC notes two assayers, FT and FM, and an overassayer, FT/M, for the year.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, .903 fine silver, .098 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: Cayón-13455, KM 81.
