This specimen was part of lot 26751 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), which sold for $763.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mixed lot of Seven High Grade Coins, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Canada are represented. Coins grade XF-UNC. Careful examination will find some pleasant surprises here." Prior to confederation with Canada in 1867, the province of New Brunswick issued half, one, five, ten and twenty cent pieces during 1861-64. The half cent, issued 1861 only, is the scarcest denomination. Short and long '6' varieties exist.
