This specimen was lot 23629 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 2 Kopek, 1877-CNB. Alexander II. NGC MS-65 Brown. A boldly struck Gem with flashy, reflective surfaces and mint red hidden in the protected areas." This type was struck 1867-1914. The nineteenth century dates are scarce in nice condition but the later dates are common with, of course, the exception of the proofs.
Recorded mintage: 5,010,000.
