This specimen was lot 72436 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MALAYSIA. 15 Ringgit, 1976. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Conservation series. Practically flawless, this superlative Gem depicts the Malaysian Gaur--the largest extant member of the bovine family. Majestic frosting and incredible brilliance create a splendid cameo nature." This NCLT was accompanied by KM 20 (25 ringgit) honoring the hornbill and KM 21 (500 ringgit) honoring the tapir.
Recorded mintage: 40,000 plus 8,113 proofs.
Specification: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver, 38.6 mm diameter.
