This specimen was part of lot 70239 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), which for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Platinum Gray Wolf Proof Set (4 Pieces), 1998. All PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo Certified. 1) 300 Dollars. 2) 150 Dollars. 3) 75 Dollars. 4) 30 Dollars. An incredibly attractive quartet, each offering a different aspect of the gray wolf. Intensely mirrored and frosted, creating a great cameo appeal on all pieces." This is the third largest denomination of the four piece set. Canada began minting this series in 1990.
