This specimen was lot 22020 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. Shilling, 1916-M. NGC MS-63. Blast white, sharply struck and lustrous." The type was struck 1911-36 at London, Melbourne (this specimen) and Heaton. This date is common up thru Extremely Fine.
Recorded mintage: 5,141,000.
Specification: 5.65 g, .925 fine silver, .168 troy oz ASW, 23.5 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by E. B MacKennal and W. H. J. Blakemore.
