This specimen was lot 29314 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $763.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Shilling 1917-M MS65 NGC, Melbourne mint. An altogether spectacular offering with delicate, champagne luster atop icy-white surfaces. The portrait of George V is fully-raised, with each individual detail impeccably defined and other than a few, inconsequential wisps which are well within the confines of the grade assignment, this jewel absolutely hits the mark." The type was struck 1911-36 at London, Melbourne (this specimen), Heaton and Sydney. This date is common up thru Extremely Fine.

Recorded mintage: 5,274,000.

Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, .168 troy oz ASW, 23.5 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by E. B MacKennal and W. H. J. Blakemore.
