Stack's Bowers November 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 78563

This specimen was lot 78563 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. 1/2 Franc, 1937-B. Bern Mint. PCGS MS-66." This type was struck at the Bern mint starting in 1874 and the design is still in use today tho the coin was converted to nickel in 1968. This specimen is struck to the standard of the French fifty centimes of 1866-1920. This is a common date.

Recorded mintage: 1,000,000 plus Specimens.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, 18.2 mm diameter.
