Sincona sale 91, lot 3712

This specimen was lot 3712 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Halbtaler 1779, Zürich. Vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half thaler of 1779, Zürich mint. Extremely fine.)"

This type was issued 1779 only and accompanied a thaler (Dav-1795). In 1798, the canton of Zürich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.
