Sincona sale 91, lot 3579

This specimen was lot 3579 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,982 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zug, Taler 1624/3, Zug. Jahreszahl im Stempel aus 1623 geändert. Sehr selten. Fast sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Zug, thaler of 1624, Zug mint, 1624/3 overdate. Very rare, About very fine.)"

This scarce type was struck 1623-24.
