This specimen was lot 3734 in Goldberg sale 67 (Los Angeles, January 2012), where it sold for $420.90. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands - Zeeland. Ducat, 1593. Knight standing. Reverse: Tablet with legend. Light edge cuts, field scratches and crease mark. Very Fine." Zeeland, along with several other Dutch provinces, issued gold ducats from the sixteenth century until the termination of the United Provinces by Napoleon in the 1790's.
