This specimen was lot 2590 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "WÜRTTEMBERG: Wilhelm I, 1816-1864, AR 2 gulden, 1853, faint surface hairlines, XF-AU." Despite the extensive production of this type struck 1845-56, this double gulden is somewhat scarce.
Recorded mintage: 175,000.
Specification: 21.21 g, 0.900 fine silver, 36 mm diameter, security edge.
