This specimen was lot 507 in Schulman auction 379 (Amsterdam, June 2024), where it sold for €300 (about US$386 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"WEST-FRIESLAND Het Gewest 1581 - 1795. Dukaton of zilveren rijder. 1742, Silver Type IIa. Ruiter naar rechts boven gekroond gewestelijk wapentje ...PRO: WESTFRI: mmt. haan. Kz. gekroond wapen, daaronder jaartal in cartouche. Gladde rand. RR. Corrosie, waarschijnlijk afkomstig uit een scheepswrak. Zeer fraai +. (province of Westfriesland, ducaton or silver rider of 1742, type IIa. Obverse: Mounted knight charges to right over the provincial arms, rooster mintmark; reverse: crowned arms, date in cartouche; plain edge. Salvaged, very rare, very fine or better.)"

This type was issued in various forms throughout the eighteenth century until 1793, when revolutionary French armies occupied the United Provinces and terminated their independence. This mintmark was used 1742-60.
