This specimen was lot 33828 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold Proof "Sucre Bicentennial" 5000 Bolivares 1995 PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC, Royal Canadian Mint mint. A flawless example with perfect deep mirror fields and frosted devices." This NCLT celebrates the bicentennial of the birth of Antonio José de Sucre, a hero of the wars of independence. He was assassinated in 1830. The gold coin was accompanied by a silver 500 bolivares (KM Y72).
