This specimen was lot 75030 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Utrecht. Ducat, 1648. NGC AU-55. A very well struck Ducat, with relatively flat flan and no spots of design weakness. Some satiny luster is still visible in the protected areas." This type was struck 1586-1624 and 1629-48 and is fairly common. Ducats with slight variations in this design were struck at Utrecht until the collapse of the Republic in 1794.
