Uruguay 1981 10 pesos rev DSLR.jpg

This type was struck in 1981 only at Santiago, Chile. Uruguayan coinage was sporadic in the twentieth century and many issues are rare; this one is common. Uruguay fell victim to the same hyperinflation which befell her neighbors Argentina and Brazil and the coinage was reformed twice, in 1975 and 1994.

Recorded mintage: unknown plus a few in silver (KM 79a) and gold (KM 79b).

Specification: 10 g, copper-nickel, 28 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 79.
