This specimen was lot 3419 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €550 (about US$711 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Republik seit 1830. 5.000 Nuevo Pesos 1981. 18,00 g Feingold. GOLD. Prachtexemplar von polierten Stempeln, fast Stempelglanz. (republic of Uruguay, since 1830, five thousand new pesos of 1981. Choice proof.)"
This coin honored the inauguration of a new dam. The twin arms are those of Uruguay and Argentina. It was accompanied by a silver 100 pesos (KM 80).
