This type was struck in 1965 only. There are a similar 1965 5 pesos and 1965 10 pesos (KM 47, KM 48). The sixties saw the beginning of the hyperinflation that would devour Uruguayan prosperity and aggravate the right wing/Marxist conflicts of the seventies.

Recorded mintage: 8,000,000.
